The Silver Shark, also known as the Red-Finned Shark, is an active and sleek swimmer with a shimmering silver body and striking red fins. Despite its name, it is not a true shark but a peaceful species that does well in larger community tanks.
Minimum Tank Requirements:
- Tank Size: 150 litres or more
- Temperature: 24-28°C
- pH: 6.0-7.5
Tankmates:
These peaceful fish can be kept with other large peaceful fish like tetras, barbs, and loaches. Avoid smaller fish as they may be outcompeted for food.
Diet:
Omnivorous. Feed them high-quality flakes, pellets, and occasional live or frozen foods like brine shrimp and bloodworms.
Care Tips:
Silver Sharks are active swimmers and require plenty of space to roam. They prefer a well-planted tank with lots of open swimming areas. Provide good filtration as they are sensitive to water quality.
