The Rainbow Shark, also known as the Red-Finned Shark, is a vibrant and energetic fish with bright red fins and a sleek black body. Despite its aggressive name, it is generally peaceful but can become territorial with other similar species.
Minimum Tank Requirements:
- Tank Size: 150 litres or more
- Temperature: 24-28°C
- pH: 6.5-7.5
Tankmates:
Rainbow Sharks are best kept with other peaceful species but can be territorial with other bottom-dwelling fish. Good tankmates include tetras, barbs, and loaches.
Diet:
Omnivorous. They will happily consume flakes, pellets, and live or frozen foods like bloodworms, brine shrimp, and other invertebrates.
Care Tips:
Rainbow Sharks are very active swimmers, so they require plenty of swimming space. They prefer a well-planted tank with hiding spots but also like to patrol open areas.
